What are you wrapping your shelf in ? Vinyl ? I wouldn't cut speaker holes in your shelf as they are a PITA to put right ..... I had them in mine from a previous owner so I bought a second hand shelf of someone who was breaking a car so I could cut out 6x9 holes out to weld back in mine
Cheers James
Vinyl seems too plain to me. The other option was carbon fibre, but that doesn't seem to go with the look of the car. Definitely won't be cutting holes in the shelf. If I were to fit speakers there, they'd be on top, but I'm worried about heat and theft . . .

However if you do decide to put them on the parcel shelf heat shouldn't be an issue if you tint the windows. As for theft well we are in SA...

Why not put speakers under the rear seat then you can have the parcel shelf neat and tidy.

I'm thinking of putting some down there. I think I'll just leave the shelf clear and put some in the front. I do want to put a Llumar window tinting in to keep the temps down and provide added safety.

I think I really need to take a decent break from it. I just wish things would work out on it though . . .
Your doing a fantastic job, keep going! I have rebuilt / modded a few cars over the years and this is how these builds often go, sometimes it seems like 1 step forwards, 2 steps back but it will be worth it in the end.

You need to use something that is used in your car already so it looks all uniform and looks like it was meant to be

Motivation / inspiration always helps. I sometimes get really fed up when I look at the amount of work that's involved. Like I said though, it's worth it in the end
