The louvre doesn't look right with the mk3 boot. Rather keep the louvre for the 1275GT or sell it to your brother for his clubby.

Nice work on the wind deflectors, they look great :)

Nah, the GT is staying as she is. These louvres weren't available at that stage, so not era specific either.

Thanks :)

Ah, OK, so are you going to sell it then? Also is it a Perana Louvre and would it have been used on the 1275E? Plus, does a louvre significantly effect rear visibility? (I ask, because I might be interested it fitting it to Caesar ;) , if it was a factory option and if it doesn't significantly effect visibility)

This is my dad's one, so will go on the 1380. Very hard to find the clips for them today. It is a Perana item yes. It might have been an option, but as far as I know, definitely an aftermarket item available at most car mod shops of the time. Visibility is fine, it's the window that gets dirty easily underneath the louvre that affects visibility.

Right, so it becomes a mission to clean. I've seen them on a few clubbies and they look good. I'm only reluctant because I'd rather not fit something non-original that is a major feature on the car. Anyway what is the 1380? (I'm sure you've mentioned it before, but I've forgotten :P )

If you have the proper clips, then the louvre unclips on the side and can swing up to clean the window. I'll have to get a picture of it. It goes like stink, that's for sure!

I'd love to see that mini. The louvre will improve the aerodynamics ;)

I had a brain fart and put the heater pipe bracket on without the secondary bracket for the fuel line underneath it. Well, today that was rectified. I just need to get a grommet of some kind on there to protect the pipe and maybe a little protective paint as well. There's still room for adjustment should it be needed.

And to divide opinion even further, I bought these :

Now to keep them clean. I still need to get an extension for the clutch MC.

Hahaha! you can't not smile (or laugh) when you see those sock thingys, although I recall that Spongebob was a square not round ;)

Do they actually serve a technical purpose though?

That's the idea  ;D

The proper ones are designed mostly for bikes to protect the plastic MC's from the sun and to soak up some of the brake fluid that sweats. Pun not intended.

No real progress lately. I sanded the dash panels and put some aluminum primer on. Coated them in a nice layer of primer after that. Will sand them down tomorrow and put some pictures up.

First coat of primer is on and smoothed down. It needs another coat or two and then sanding smooth and they'll be good to go.
