Too uncomfortable to be working in, especially trying to get into tight spaces and awkward positions to put something in.

Well, if it makes you feel better, I've spent the last 5 months barefoot and topless while working on the car

Dude, that military container is brilliant! I want one!!! The size would be perfect for pretty much any roadside spares one could use.

I'm leaving it just as it is, scars and all. I think it's really cool.

Is that the original boot board for the mk3?
Yes, just cut it on the side to fit. It was rough, so thought I might as well use it.

Yeah you can cover it with some nice grippy material, so that the army surplus spares container doesn't slide around and it'll look like it was meant to be there :)

What would have been stored in the container when it was in service?

More than likely ammo of some kind.

I don't wear shoes either... Must be a southern hemisphere thing! The problem is if your garage floor is like mine you end up with dirty oily feet to match your hands

It must be a southern hemisphere thing! Depending on what day it is at work, I'm barefoot, shorts and a shirt, cap and sunglasses But yes, dirty feet does pose a problem! As do the screws you've dropped and find by stepping on them . . .
