I'm just really glad to see it out of those tunnels, no matter what the owner wishes to do with it! Good on Steve for going to the effort to sort it out so it didn't get encased in concrete forever  :proud:

One query though - and sorry if its been asked elsewhere: the press are reporting this mini as having "been used as a pool car around the sprawling factory" and that it came to its fate when "a storage container fell on it". And then the workers "hid it in a tunnel".

That doesn't add up to me. 1) It would have more than 11 miles on it 2) If it had been secretly dumped in a tunnel, how had the engine, wheels, interior all been pilfered? I doubt very much that workers on the assembly line would have thought "ooh, I'm short of a GT engine/interior/light cluster/headlamp - I know, there's one down in the tunnel I can grab!".  3) If it was secretly dumped then it wasn't done very well. I'm sure a foreman or other worker would have bumped into it within a day and reported it. 4) I would have expected more damage if a container fell on it. If it was a corten shipping container it would have been obliterated, a wooden container would still have probably have done more damage than put a neat triangular dent in the roof.

With that in mind can anyone offer a more realistic explanation for how it got there? Or alternatively, prove me wrong! Is there any way at all that this can be put out to the wider world / ex-employees? Surely somewhere some retired chap who was involved with putting this mini down there is sitting in an armchair sipping tea!

To me, the whole mystery surrounding what on earth it was doing down there is what appeals to me about this mini!  :shades:

Perhaps someone took an old GT shell and put it in there years later, the someone can claim its the last one and make a mint on it. I don't believe that but everyone loves a conspiracy theory!

It has disappeared and with the all hassle that followed it that may be the best outcome.

They decided to put it back in the tunnel, best result all round really.

Ok, that might have been a fib but you can dream....
