Hi
What are you guys using. Going to be doing a fair bit of spraying and have a half decent compressor just want to see what people recommend. Probably got £100 to spend tops so i know its not going to be a professional gun.

I work in a Spray Shop and all our guns there are top of the range Develbis guns which are superb
However im currently spraying my Mini in High Build primer at home ( Take a look at my thread )
and im using a £30 HVLP Seally gun which is doing the job perfectly.
Andrew.

jesus, i used to do allot of paint work at a classic car restoration place and we only had cheap guns, certainly under £50, and our touchup gun was about £20!
we used to do all the things you arnt suposed to do and never had a problem.......
i tried to repaint my fuel filler flap on the 'tro last week and it went tits up...... typical!
but in response to your question, i dont think you need to go mad with gear to get a good result, a £100 gun is far better than anything i have ever used and i never had any complaints about my finish!

are you going to be shooting primer and the paint through the gun? because primer is better through summin like a 1.6mm or 1.8 but paint better through summin like a 1.3, primer wont matter too much on qaulity i used a cheap 25 quid gun on my car but i did use a devilbliss sri pro to paint the base and laquer.
as already posted that devlibliss slg 610 is fairly good

Avoid the DB SLG610. Its known to be a bag of arse. Look on the mig welding forum.
On a full on budget the sealey gold gun with a 1.4mm tip seems to produce acceptable results.
You should be able to pick up a DB GTI setup second hand for around £100. A bit pricey but unlike the SLG610 or the Sealey gold you'll be able to sell it on for close to the same price when you're finished
