Couldn't agree more, the end of every beetle is truly a beautiful sight. If only scrapyards had live video feeds of their crushers for moments like that. Every one gone is one less offence to the gods of motoring.Beetles are gorgeous end of. :-P

Lol each to their own, but having owned other air cooled vw's I can tell you they are truly awful things. The beetle is the worst as there is no point to it, it doesn't do anything well except rust and breakdown. Also the vw scene has really changed and is now so far up it's own backside it is unbelievable, not to mention strangely right wing. I would stick to minis if I were you.Walked straight into that...

the remark about the beetle is so true, i have said this a million times myself. the history of the mini in racing of all kinds is well documented, and anyone who has driven one around an island can see what its all about, but the beetle, its not even a one trick pony.
campers i can tollerate a little more, i spent a solid 6 months restoring one a few years ago, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week i was at it. and my god they really can rust. but i enjoyed doing it, and the woman who owned it even let me pic the colour i wanted to paint it!

I don't know whether the buy-back price is at the actual market value of aboutr £10k or what it would be if the car was as describedf in the programme, ie £20-25k on the European market.
When the new owners took it out for its second trip the car wouldn't go above 50mph, going uphill it went even slower, and a windscreen wiper fell off.
I don't think this series will be back.

The End, part 2: Channel 5 has agreed to buy the car back after it was realised (by a would-be collector) that the engine is from an XJ6.

and the E-type was loaded on a trailer and taken away. If it comes back on the market, remember to check under the bonnet.

Can never understand why he didn't do a Mini? I'm sure I saw somewhere he likes Mini's too, still was great watching that MG B born againBetter than a slap in the face, that's for sure! They really need to do a decent restoration programme, one like 'A Car is Born', but with a bit more personality.
