i have tint on mine was on when bought the car
think its 70% tint on rear 30% front
dont know if i would want it on my daily car tho
the 70% restricts seeing when dark
go for lighter

i want the rear of the car to be virtually unseeable and the front to have a graduated tint, do you know of anywhere to do this on the cheap?

If I remember right the rules are that the font windows can only have a 23% tunt but the back is unlimited. I have sundym windows all round which are 23% and a tinted strip at the top of my windscreen. They look like they're not tinted but for a while I had a normal window as well and it looked so wrong

In the 1960's and 70's the ultimate tints for Mini's were 'Double Black Shadowlite' glass, this was often fitted all round to Radford and Wood & Pickett Mini's especially if owned by a rock/pop star. The laminated glass was the same as used in Ambulance windows and also the rear window of most London Black cabs at the time. I picked up a full set of Black Shadowlite glass secondhand for my Mk1 Mini in the 1970's and then sprayed my Tweed Grey/White Mini black to match the windows..........the windscreen was a lighter smoke grey glass but at night you had to open the sliding side windows to see anything properly! :ohno:

i dont intend to do anything ;) hahah. so does anyone actually know how this could be done on the cheap? like some stick on adhesive tint or something? because the minis with completely see through windows are nice it just seems a little odd to me being able to see straight in like that, plus it a personal preference on the styling of my mini! :) thanks for all the posts tho guys!

These pre-cut tints are for New MINI's but am sure they could (or a similar local firm) can supply the film for you in whatever shade you want?

5% Limo Tint is darkest but not legal for front windows:

Oh yeah, if you like! I must say things did improve when I got into owning XJ6's, Granadas, etc, with big reclining seats.

pre cut for classic mini's:

I haven't tried them so don't blame me if they're rubbish

I think in most cars any tint on the front door windows move it past the legal limit. Not sure if that applies to minis though.

Thank you! :D that's perfect I'll give it a go but I think it's going to be the most fidley part on the whole mini! I may have to buy a few packs :L

You can just buy the film then cut it to size yourself? I would imagine its much more fiddley though...cheaper however!!
