Looking for a big bore cylinder head for my 1275 engine build ! Its now got a 12g940 head but want somethin with even more power increases !
Let me know wats best to look into without replacing the head for a 16v or 7 port, wunna keep it 8v but so many diffrent performance heads to buy ?!
Help !

Hi..and welcome to TMF and enjoy.................you wont get any more power with just a head you will need a cam and an LCB and exhaust plus new inlet manifold...................

Ye mate ive already built the block im runnin a swift tune 5 cam and have lcb an runnin on a hif44 single carb, runnin electonic 12:3 dizzy and sports coil an also have roller rockers too ! Just lookin into cylinder heads im runnin a 12g940 now but want even more from 1 now ? What would you suggest ? Thanks for the reply aswell

Oh an Also have a inlet manifold which has been tinkered with so should increase slightly aswell ! 😃

If I were you I would call up or visit a decent tuning company and say "This is what I've got, this is what I want" and they should be able to recommend a decent spec for you

Okay thanks just lookin into what people are usin realy and ideas are handy too:)
The engine should be quick with the 12g940 head but every1 always wants that bit more dont they haha !

So do you want to keep the 12G940 5 port head and just have it worked? I would probably just have bigger valves put in - I think it's about 35mm inlet and 30mm exhaust and have it ported to match your cam and use - you could open the ports up hugely which would be fine for a full race engine constantly revving to about 7000rpm but it would lose you power in a fast road car so you have to find a balance. I think the best way would be to ask an engine builder, possibly Swiftune if you already have their cam
