I know this is a controversial subject as alot of people say stay away from them, but I <3 there 6x12 Mamba Reps.

http://www.midlandwh...Anthracite.html

I absolutely love them but am a bit worried about quality :P.

Also like the cosmic reps but they don't suit my car, despite loving the minilites on there now may keep them as a winter set and have these as a summer set.

I like these too :D

Dont see many 12" mambas ( ok there reps but still)

As far as ive read if you look after them and clean them regularly they will be sound.

No-one seems to have these in 12's tend to be 10's and the odd set of 13's dont see many in anthracite either.

Hmm, Im usually quite good with stuff like that.

Keep applying poorboy's wheel sealant.

Bit off an OCD detailing freak.

I didnt think they could be that bad when I bought a set of Midlands Superlites 6x12. Bought them without tyres and that was the mistake. Not sure what these were like but had 2 tyre fitters break the bead trying to get tyres on them. Even spoke to Midland who said they have to be heated to get them on, No one close to me has a tyre oven. Have some Starmags 6x12 at the moment that the previous owner bought. Car had never seen rain let alone salt and the lacquer had flakes and they have a few white streaks on them.

The stories on here are true that the quality is not good. Had to experience it for myself and its poor. Did get my money back though after threatening court action for selling a product not fit for purpose.

The Superlites they do are beautiful and looked stunning when they were delivered. 6x12 is a great size aswell and no one else does 6x12 Minilight style that I like. Huddersfield spares do one but it has a horrible rounded lip to it. True 5.5x12 will be too small I think look under arched and spacers arent everyones favorite thing.

I Like the 5.5's and they're genuine supalights with the rarer lip (The nice one). But I would wan't wider wheels whilst retaining 12's. And I love mamba's.

Midland wheels are crap. Poor cheaply made products that are as fit for purpose as a chocolate teapot. Also their customer service is truly shocking. I speak from experience as have dealt with these muppets before. Avoid like the plague.

LOL. Ruling says I don't by them, shame really because if they we're made properly, I would of bought a set of 5 and had them as my main alloy all year round, looks like im sticking with the supalights.

You should never have to heat up tyres for them to be fitted. I used to work at an alloy wheel refurbishers fitting tyres to 19, 20, 22 & 24" wheels and never had to heat up tyres, including runflats. Plus no amount of heat will make the steel bands expand anyways. What they are is cheaply made, badly designed wheels with piss thin paint and laqure.
So is it any wonder that the laqure fails on the diamond cut areas and then corrodes. And the only way to fix that properly is full strip, repaint, full recut and laqured properly.

The tyres were almost impossible to fit to some of Midlands earlier 6x10 alloys because the recess was cast in the centre of the rim rather than offset to one side. The recess is there to make tyre installation and removal easier. When the bead ring of a tyre is fitted onto the wheel, it drops into the recess so the opposite tyre bead can be forced onto the rim without damage.

I bought the exact same wheels about 20 months ago for my daily from midland wheels.

I think the quality of them is fair, after 20 months and 2 winters the worst that has happened is some of the polished rim has tarnished, and to be fair I never cleaned them, that often!

The tyres fitted easily, I know as I fitted them myself, yokahamas A539's and i've had no problems from them what so ever, in fact I've just sold my daily and I took them off to keep for my next mini as I loved them so much.

If you do get some my only advise would be to put some grease on the new wheel nuts as these are a internal hex fitting and are only a chromed steel nut which tends to rust making getting the supplied adapter in.

My old daily
