Does it make much difference on the rear? I was thinking of picking some up to try it.

I think it did but like others have said need to do it right for it to work and with no wiper on the back it last a lot longer so it's worth it as well as the from doesn't last two minuets

I have rain-x on every window but the windscreen and its pretty good in the rain but i find on dewey/frosty morning it seems to make things worse because you end up with lots of tiny beads of water where as other cars on the street have cleared.

Rain X is a mixture of alcohols and acetone so not suitable in your washer bottle as it will likely degrade the seals (and react with the bottle depending on what it is made from). Also not good for your paintwork so best to use it as intended.

All it does is clean the dirt from the tiny pores in the glass (too small to see) and the water is then less attracted to it, beads up and runs off, until it gets dirty again.

No acetone. There are volatiles for cleaning and to carrying the other ingredients. It does more than clean pores.

RainX works very well.......Important to apply as directed! I travelled 45km a few weeks ago in a medium/light rain. Didn't need the wipers at all ( I was experimenting )
They do make a mix for the washer bottle but it's a different mix....just the name is the same.
Don't put the concentrated stuff in the washer bottle...it needs to be applied correctly...let dry....wipe clear

This is the stuff which u use directly into the washer bottle and I use their cleaning product on the screen as well.

Can't say how good it is as I have not driven it in the wet.

Cheers

Kevin

I've heard a lot of complaints about this stuff in the past, but I'm going to have to agree 100% with dklawson. ALL problems I've heard of have been a result of improper application. It works very well for me, also at low speeds.

I've used it once and it worked well, but needed reapplying quite soon. I also use the anti-fog stuff they do on the inside which again is good but only lasted a couple of weeks it seemed.

This video below shows how well it can work I think. I assume its rain X that this screen has been treated with:
