Does anyone know which Cooper 'S's had which speedos - the 120 mph, the 120 with grads to 130 and the ones with 130 marked on them? I can't seem to find a reference to them.

Are you sure because there seem to be a lot of mk1 speedo's with the indicator light at the top?

Yes I'm sure. It all depends on the age of the speedo. Very early speedos have the main beam light at the top.

Well, the speedo in jaydee´s link is mk1, has a green light at the top and the blue high beam at the bottom left, so... Seems they changed their minds with every speedo they made.

Cooperman, I think it´s like this:
- mk1 970 and 1071 S had the 120 mph speedo
- mk1 1275 S had the 120+ mph speedo
- mk2/3 S had the 130 mph speedo

He said the 997 coopers had the 100 mph speedo. Surley these are rarest because of the rarity of the 997?

The 997 and 998 both had 100 MPH speedos, the 'rare' 100 Mph speedo is the one without the 10th's on the end of the mileage, these were early 997, and as said before the first S speedos in the 1071's only went up to 120, then they used the 120 marked to 130, finally the 130 mark speedo was used for the rest of S production

Yep I have the 997 one. Has 100 written on it and goes up to 110 in increments. Anyone want to swap one for a the correct one for a mk2 cooper S?

This is a Mk1 997/998 speedo.
The Mk2 998 speedo has a green indicator warning light between the 50 and 60.

Sorry for the thread revival,,,

The 100 mph speedo was from the 997 & 998 Cooper.

and also the original 1971 - 1973 Californian Mokes (also referred to as an Export Moke).

They were also fitted with a 1275 engine and drum brakes.
