Are you sure because there seem to be a lot of mk1 speedo's with the indicator light at the top?
Yes I'm sure. It all depends on the age of the speedo. Very early speedos have the main beam light at the top.

One of those original Mk.1 'S' 120 mph speedos sold on ebay recently for just under £500.
Do we want to talk about the chrono smiths tacho sold for over a grand?

I didn't see that, but I thought 'I have a 120 mph original speedo on my shelf - I might sell it'.

What the cooper ones?
Yep was looking for one and they're not cheap really.
Though you can get a 90mph for 99p on ebay, the 100 mph and the 120 mph are rather expensive, even the repros!

In the early Cooper -S days there were 120 MPH speedometers. At some point they introduced the 130 MPH speedometer. The pictures above are 130 MPH speedos. (Note that while the text scale stops at 120, the calibration marks continue for another 10 MPH). When was the change made from 120 to 130? I'm sure it must be in Parnell's book but I am not sure where my copy is.
