If you want to retain as much strength as possible then a good structural adhesive will help. I use DP410 from 3M on our electric race cars at work. It is a 2 part full structural adhesive and bonds steel/ ally to carbon brilliantly. As with all adhesives, surface prep is key to performance. We have used it in very high stress environments with no problem, including the roll bar to honeycomb chassis mounts. The car was rolled at Goodwood last year and the rollbar took one hell of a whack and was partly deformed. The glue was fine though. It's expensive, but 2 tubes would easily do and that would be about £30.

Just to point out to carbon fibre made mini parts in the Uk are not structural as nobody makes them with epoxy they all use polyester based resins which have nowhere near the mechanical strength that epoxy does. Most don't mention this because when people read carbon fibre they think F1 and high end sports cars which are super light and strong, so let the customer assume it's the same stuff.

However arc angels are up front about the different options they offer and there roof in option three which from memory used vinylester resin is better than polyester but still nowhere near the strength of epoxy.

For a good example of how to do it the right way have a look at this, http://roguese7ens.c...cts/?page_id=34 but unfortunately it's in the US

I have had lots of carbon products, I have delt with both weezel and arc angels,

I have a arc angels roof and it is excellent quality! It is the best one they do,the quality is excellent and the fit is perfect.

I hope this helps. Their delivery was good too, other carbon company's seem to have poor promises of delivery dates. Arc angels have always been good for me. I have a front end a roof boot floor, bood lid and lots of bits and pieces. The worst part i have is the weezel boot floor which was three months late! The best product is the roof by arc angels.

We are getting a Curley roof through Minispeed with 10% discount using my TMF membership number. Approx 6 - 8 weeks for it to be ready.

Has anyone got a picture of their composite roof? I'm keen to get one as my original roof was dented badly in previous history ( before I bought it) Id like to see the join between the gutter and composite panel, is it obvious or a small lip?

If not I'll go back and fit a news steel one..
