I used the POR15 tank seal kit on mine. It worked very well. Not a drop in about four years of use now.
The motorcycle kit is designed for up to 6.5 Gallon's I think ( that may well be little US versions of gallon though )
anyway....was just enough for my 5.5 G RH tank.....maybe your larger van tank needs the bigger kit (?)

I recomend it for such a leak anyway....it's what it's designed for I think.
