Have you got all the mods logged with your insurance campany?

A de seamed rear valence is a lot harder too repair hence why they will write it off.

Insurance (In-shoor-unce) - Pay a company a bundle of cash on the basis that if you need them they will spring to your financial aid. Then, they'll try and wriggle out of it if you do.

I'm just learning about minis but Ratty looks eminently repairable?

Definatley repairable. A buy back from the insurance company may see you with some cash over after you have repaired the rear

yes it is repairable , that's not my concern ... the concerns are ... internal boot hinges , solenoid boot lock fitting , lip fitted above the numberplate , led's for number plate light , boot light removed , boot lock removed , valance seam removed . would a bodyshop be willing to perform all the extra work , or would they even know what to do..... because they normally just unbolt and bolt on a new bit.....

Ooh a decent fitting alloy roof would look well.
Can you work with alloy too?

I'd love to get my hands on an English Wheel!!!! You're right though, most conventional 'body shops' either don't know or don't care.

If there's anything I can do to be of help, let me know.

That looks bad, but the only person who will be able to repair it to the level it was with the care needed is the one who built it in the first place, A repair shop is just going to make it worse. You might think of getting the money and rolling up your sleeves and just digging back in. You did a wonderful job the first time CF.

Cheers, TBO I had a quote from where I work ( carriage builders ) , they quoted £2400 plus parts. My boss said (to my surprise) if we get the job that I could repair it as I know how it's been done...

Well that's pretty good. That means you get to fix the car during work time, while getting paid for it with the guarantee of the quality.

The only thing I can see is will the insurance company allow it if they know you work for the company repairing it? I'd be careful about it and check it out fully. The last thing you want is to have problems once the job has already been started etc.

Re-tinted the door and quarter glass today.. done the door glass with 15% and the quarters
with 5% tint. still got to do the rear window , hopefully won't have as much trouble as the last time
I did the rear glass ..

Quarter glass, hadn't realised how much it had faded (note the edges)
