Great find, somebody needs to save the LEs and preserve them for the future. It saddens me to think just how few original LEs there are left, especially with mileage as low as this. If you get chance to take any more photos, please upload them - I would love to see the interior.

Thanks for all the replies, yes, it's a great find and I will definitely be posting more pics. I didn't get home with it till 11 o'clock Sunday night and I've been on 12 hour days since then so haven't even seen it myself since then.

It came from Portsmouth, from a lady who garaged it because she lost confidence in driving and always thought she would get back into driving it again.

nice mini but that moped is what it is all about for me i bough a honda nc50 express when i was 12 for £30. it was brilliant, went forever on no fuel very basic, easy to fix the lot. it lasted a whole 3 weeks before it died and then stripped it down and rebuilt the engine first engine i ever had in bits and it ran again abused it for 6 months then sold it and bough a honda cb100n motorbike.

Unfortunately it has had some repairs to it from a previous bump and as such has had the offside front wing, front panel and bonnet replaced at some time in its earlier life, it has also had the rear offside corner and bootlid repainted for some reason that is unclear as there is no damage internally in the boot.

Did they make an equal number of Jet Blacks and Red Hots? I always seem to see more Jet Blacks. According to Howmanyleft, there are currently 115 licensed Jet Blacks (157 SORN) and only 54 Red Hots (108 SORN).

How did you come across it? was the garage just open and you spotted it or? Also it looks like new and that interior is imaculate! It needs to be preserved!

Ok then, I paid £1000 for it, which I think was a fair price. As said, there are no keys and it does need a front and rear end repaint.

I found out about it from a guy my wife works with, it was his mums. I had to do a 500 mile round trip to Portsmouth from Yorkshire to pick it up.

The car will be kept absolutely standard, no big wheels, no fancy arches, no cooper grille etc.

I do need 2 New tyres though, anybody got any original Pirelli's laying around? Also, does anywhere do the Jet Black decal for the bootlid as this will need to be replaced.
