Missed it this week but will watch the repeat. The Timeshift programme later on bbc4 was a demonstration of how to make an excellent, factual, entertaining programme about old cars. Great stuff.

Yes I watched that last night. It was a good view and could have lasted longer. Perhaps they should do a sequal that shows what happened in the '70's when BL thought they could get away with churning out outdated designs, whilst the rest of the world moved onto the next big thing, Hot Hatches.

Considering all of the comments on here and everywhere else over the web it's been a bit of hit for channel 5! It's in their top 10 shows with more than 1 million viewers each week.

It's probably only getting good viewing figures because of all teh bad reaction to it and people are looking in to see how bad it is. Just remember "All publicity is good publicity"

Just been reading some of comments on the channel 5 website, came accross this one and literally have tears running down my cheeks!!

Fantastic program. Simply stunning work by Bernie and the team. How these guys take a wreck of a car, fit only for the scrapyard, and then turn it into a concours example of the marque is beyond me. I will never have the skills these people have so can only watch brilliant programs such as these in awe of the talent on show. Once again, thank you Channel 5 for allowing us a brief insight into professional car restoration.

So why was this so funny??

It was posted by "Bernies Mum"!!!

Just discovered this and went back and watch all the episodes on catch up. It is fantastic fun but slightly less real than WWW. More of a patomine than anything else but, as such, great fun. I checked out the valuation guy who turns up in a flash BMW, perfect hair and crisp white chinos and does a full valuation without getting his hands dirty. He does actually work for one of the big auction houses, I am surprised he would want to get involved in such froth as it cant be good for his reputation.

Really hope they don't do a mini, it'll just be a rust death-trap covered in filler, which they seem to love.

If you watch the programme title sequence you can spot a blue Mini floor which gets a size 10 put through it. :ohno:

They must have used a 2nd car for the MGB, that one was toasted!! Utterly not worth doing, scripted dross. Same time next week everyone??

Deffinately used two cars this week. Did anyone else notice that the car started off as a late model in Inca Yellow, then when the body is in primer the shuts appear to be Snapdragon. Also the dash changes from a late '70's to mid '70's type!!!!!!! Probably why the "filled" the sunroof this week.

Tonigths episode was the worst one yet, I just couldn't believe my eyes when the rear end fell off, especially with the shortened springs and missing propshaft.

Just watching it again and you can see the shuts!! Totally different colour to the 'original' car.

Wrestling has less staging than this series....................................

They went to all the trouble of removing the sunroof from the MGB (with minimal detail of how the guy went about it) But in an earlier program they kept the nasty 1980's glass pop-up sunroof in a fixed head E type.

I'm all for a bit of entertainment in these types of show but this series is dreadful. At least chop shop featured some of the work being done, this just glosses over everything in favour of staged rants and handbag fights. Straight after the rubbish on Channel 5 I watched an episode of Overhaulin with Chip Foose etc. I hate it when Americans out do the British...........

Now where's that Wheeler Dealer repeat on the V+ box.

Thats because they removed the MGB sunroof by swapping the car /bodyshell part way through filming.....
