I'm looking forward to Monday's show. Not only is it the last of the series, but what a climax!! Should be better than Top Gear's Indian adventure!

Bernie and Mario will make a complete borrox of some old Mini, the producer will make a complete borrox of a TV show and all sorts of people here will make a huge borrox of their blood pressure!!

i cant even watch this dross-the 911 episode with the "deadline"before the valuer comes, and the mystery wiring fault-it shows the engine of the 911 -you can hear the engine being turned over on the starter, but the view of the engine shows the belt driven fan not moving.as soon as the "fault" was discovered you can see the fan whirring round with the engine.
despite my better judgement i thought i would watch the mgb episode- OMG , how contrived is this bollux when the rear axle drops out of the mg on the ramp!! you can clearly see the leaf springs have been cut-there is no curled bit for the shackle bolt to go through!!
i used to quite like chop shop with bernie an lepou(spelling) but this is just awful!!
channel five can be congradulated on the superb "heroes of the skies" series with lord ascroft though!

Heroes of the skies is well written but Ashcroft is crap, he is more wooden that a hundredweight of oak. If you watch it back you will see he pauses in the wrong places as his eyes scan to the next line of auto cue. Pratt. Doesn't spoil a good program but why don't they spend a few quid and get someone who knows what they are doing?

yes but ashcroft isnt a tv presenter-******* him off for bankrolling the conservatives if you want, but he has paid a massive amount of money collecting victoria cross and other medals, and paid for a new wing of the imperial war museum at lambeth to house these medals and have them on public display, and kept these medals from falling into foreign collectors hands.

I won't get started on Ashcroft as I would go on all night, suffice to say if he had paid all the tax in this country he should have over the years and not fiddled it in offshore accounts then WE the people of this country could have bought all of the VCs, built the extension and much much more. So I don't see him as anything but a parasite. BUT that is besides the point, my point was, and is, that he is rubbish.

has he done anything illegal?
put yourself in his position- would you pay the tax if you had to? i'm self employed, and every april i use every possible thing to reduce my tax/get a bigger tax rebate,is this wrong aswell?
i'll pay as little as possible, and if i was very rich i'd do the same within the law,and give it to worthy causes.
i think the fact that he kept all these medals in this country for future generations to view should be applauded,no matter what.
the very fact that it is a subject close to his heart is enough for him to appear in programmes such as this surely?

Any one read the "Classic Car Rescued exposed" article yet then, apparently the entire programme is a complete fake. Really who would have thought it, what next, X-Factor isnt actually a singing contest, Mark Webber will be told not to pass Vettel tomorrow and Lance Armstrong might really actually have taken performance enchancing drugs.

There is a difference between illegal and immoral, but that is mostly because people like him make the laws to make sure they and their mates are able to get away with it. To answer your other question, yes it is wrong. Why should the rest of taxpayers support your shortfall? what next? is it the same for people stealing from their employers, selling drugs, stealing your car? society only works if people dont deliberately screw each other over. Check the dictionary definition of parasite, it fits Ashcroft perfectly. He makes out he is a good guy when he has done nothing but take from this country. I work with disabled kids who have had their transport cut, their access to medical services slashed, chances of employment destroyed (Remploy closing). Don't try and tell me it is doesn't make a difference. He and those like him are Worse than what I scrape from my shoe in the park. BUT my point was, and still is, that he was rubbish.

Hit the post before I had finished...... I also think that his attitudes of complete selfishness and belief in personal gain over the needs of others are exactly contrary to all those attributes that exemplify VC winners, self sacrifice, belief in the betterment of mankind through individual action, willingness to give your life to save your mate. I find it offensive that the man gets anywhere near a VC. Not having a go at you mate, but find it disgusting that this bloke portrays this facade of a altruistic do gooder.

i suggest you check out who makes the laws in this country-i think you will find it is in the house of commons,by elected MP's,not "people like him".
and as for "yes it is wrong. Why should the rest of taxpayers support your shortfall? what next? is it the same for people stealing from their employers, selling drugs, stealing your car?"
well i correct me if i'm wrong but isnt stealing from my employers,(even though i've just told you i'm self employed)selling drugs, and stealing cars against the law?
what shortfall?
how dare you accuse me of not paying my way?

as self employed(i'm a subcontractor) i dont have the benefit of holiday or sick pay,and can be laid off at the drop of a hat!!
futhermore,as for you working with disabled children, well yes you may be having to cope with cuts, arent we all?
try coping with cuts personally-one of my step sons has A typical autistism, with oppositional defiance dysorder ,and adhd thrown in for good measure, and every day is a struggle-try walking a mile in my shoes before judging me!!-what has cuts to do with ashcroft-cuts have to do with the global recession, and the last government badly spending our money FFS!!
i suggest you get your facts straight before you accuse me of letting "taxpayers support my shortfall"

We all have terrible lives but we have Minis and memories of Austin Rover to cheer us up.

[attachment=133686:austinrover.jpg]

my life is not "terrible" at all, but i dont like being accused by another member of "letting the taxpayer support my shortfall"
its the taxes i pay that help support this bloody country
