Given their previous track record I'd have to go for a Mk I or II miraculously re-appearing in a Mk IV bodyshell

I try to watch it a couple of times but the Missus gets too angry with it, and she'll admit she's definately no mechanic....... seems she knows more than them though!! >_<

I wonder if they will 'reshell' a proper cooper in a Bini? I wouldn't put it past them.

The best TV resto progs are the ones with Mark Evans. He's done both an MGB & an E-Type and both were done properly.

Sadly a 'Mini is Born' series may never happen.......... :(

This was Mark Evans reply to an email from a TMF member asking if he had thought about doing 'A Mini is Born' series back in 2008:

Thanks for your email.
More than thought about it - proposed a series to Discovery as a tribute to it.
But, see my note below.

All the best,

MARK

"I have received loads of emails from fans of my Is Born shows asking what's next. Sadly, Discovery Real Time have said that its audience isn't after my kind of workshop series any more, so there are no new projects on the horizon. Really sorry. I would love to do more.
If that bothers you, a few suggestions. You can contact Discovery Real Time via the viewer feedback part of its website to let them know what you want to watch.
Or, you could post a message at one of Discovery's forums.
You could also leave a message at the fan page that someone has just started on Facebook under my name."

Mark Evans stripped down and restored 3 tatty Rover Mini Coopers into Red, White & Blue Italian Job lookalikes in the TV series "Dream Machines" in 2003. I have a copy of the programme on DVD recorded off Ch5 at the time. The registrations of 2 of the cars were H753 CAP and J467 VDF, all 3 were given away to one phone in prize winner at the end of the show.

It's a butt ugly yank car, so it won't annoy me for once. One less on the road when C5 pulls it for being a ringer.
