i dont really shop at halford as i think its over priced but i have a trade card but im scared to buy anything just incase the discount is poor and will end up paying near enough full price

do they have a price guide on items showing the discount or any way of finding out what you would pay before going to the check out?

scared? odd choice of words... but I always use halfords as a "i need something in a rush and other motorfactors arent open" the fact i have a trade card just makes it a little more bearable

halfords classic oil 20w50 is £18.99 shop price. £14.99 trade card

bigger savings on brake fluid etc. 1ltr brake fluid is like £10 shop price, about £4 trade.

It varys so much.

I got one set of wipers 2 weeks ago for £7.odd, I then bought some last week for £15.odd, both were originally the same price but they had different discounts.

You ask over the phone. I always phone the one in Derby as I know they just tell you the price straight off over the phone, my local one in Tamworth asks for the trade card number EVERY time. Not a problem but adds time.

How easy is it to get a trade card? thinking of spending some christmas money on some new/better tools.
IVe read on their site that you need an NVQ or another certificate. Or a business card...? I can mock up a business card in 30 secs

some people have done that and it's worked

i'm a self employed electrician and got one for buying tools and told them i also wired caravans and motor homes

gave them my domestic electrician card and showed them my sign written van outside

worked for me

the worse they can say is no (if they do try another branch)
