How does the MED filter fit the std. bulkhead? Have you driven it with that filter?
..I'm 'bout to order the same filter + stub stacks for my 998..
They fit perfectly with a standard bulkhead. Will post pic's soon, but they certainly do work!

We finished 49th overall and 1st in class and 1st beginners......really happy with the result considering we are (were) complete beginners!
Will post some pic's of some of the prep i did over the weekend when the light is right for some nice pic's, but for the time being, here's my favourite photo from the rally.

Nice pic - & a great result!
Cheers man....yeh the pic is awesome. It was taken by my mother in law! She is a very good photographer though.....better photo than the pro photographer on the event.

Obviously the twin carbs were on the priority list as the HIF44 carb that was being used wasn't allowed on the rally due to it being a more modern carb. (will be for sale soon)
Also had a tidy up of the electrics in the engine bay. I wasn't going for a 'full on' hidden electrics look (like in the modified scene) but more just to make good the bodges done by previous people who worked on the car. I wanted the electrics to be routed in a more tidy fashion and not twisting its way round every component under the bonnet.
The battery cable was run up behind the dash (coming to that in a minute) and across behind the dash clocks. Then it passes through the bulkhead using a Longacre Battery Through Bulkhead fitting (left side of engine bay). This also allows a feed pickup point for things like spotlights etc.
Next up......The office!!!
Still needs work, and the dash i put in was going to be a temporary effort (as i don't have proper metal folding tools yet) but it looks neat enough that it will be kept and replicated on the drivers side when i finally get round to fitting some different clocks (and new ones - oil pressure etc). Will be painted black though.
Fuse box moved inside and auxiliary fuse box fitted for fuel pump, trip meter and potti light. Washer bottle moved into nav's footwell...not quite sure why i did it really. I think it all started because was going to fit a fresh air scoop under the bonnet on the inner wing and the washer bottle was in the way....anyway its done now. Also the power feed for the potti is mounted under the dash rail....this will be moved into the dash once i've fulled decided where everything is going to be. Switch on the left is for the internal map light...this can be switched either from the nav's side or the drivers side. Pocket on rollcgae for the all important clipboards. Homemade nav footrest.
Tripmeter is the most obvious addition to the interior. This one is a 'RoamerTime+' made by 'The Basic Roamer Co.'.
I bought this one rather than a Brantz as it has a built in internal clock meaning i don't have to fork out for a seperate clock. Also, Phil at the Basic Roamer co. offered to do me a custom one in satin black rather than the standard carbon effect finish...i didn't really want any carbon in a historic rally car (details are details!). Also in the pic (on the seat) you can see the remote unit that controls the trip...very useful on the rally! All in all..... i highly recommend the RoamerTime+. They offer fantastic customer service, the product is made here in the uk and it moves the game on a fair bit in the tripmeter world. It is compact and well designed.Because it has its own internal batteries, I can unplug it...take it into signing on and adjust the time so it matches 'Rally Time'....no messing round with adjusting watches and then transfering that time to the trip stuck in the car. The RT+ can also run off its own internal batteries if the feed supply fails...nice one! Also if you change mode mid way through a section the modes still run in the background and when you come back to them they have continued to count. Another feature i like is the adjustable brightness of the display. On night rallies, you see some crews with clocks that are soooo bright that they must be off putting to the driver...this one can be adjusted to suit. They also do a stripped down version with just a clock for night rally guys...but seeing as i wanted it for regularity events i got the full fat version!
Next on the to do list.....Get spotlights fitted ready for a night rally (will probably end up doing sometime else though!)

Some really nice work there, very neat! I like your dash, something that's a high priority on our 'to-do' list. I don't think the full width 9mm MDF version that the previous owner fitted to ours is the most lightweight dash you can get....!! I think we need to get one of those Longacre fittings too - our battery cable is just pushed through a grommet at the moment....
The battery through bulkhead is cheap too so well worth fitting and is a great takeoff point for ancilleries. You got any photo's on here of your car yet?

Chopping the rear bins out tomorrow so we can put the main cage in properly - & we'll probably have to weld some new plates on the rear floor as it's looking a bit scabby in there!

It's good to get a testimonial like that about the Romertime I will see him tonight and let him know your glowing report! I may invest in one myself :)
They are very good and Phil is a very easy to deal with. I think the tripmeter can be updated with software too as he's talking about an upgrade so would be good to hear what he's planning.
