As for the hrcr cup next year.....doubtful to be honest. I'd like to think the car will be built by summer ready for fettling but as my life has changed since becoming a father the car's play second (if not third) fiddle.
I know that feeling!!

Bad luck, wondered why I hadn't seen you at test 4!
If it's any consolation, some never made it past test 1!!

Bit of a landmark day on Tuesday folks............this happened............
I've got to be honest, even when I was in the van heading up to Padiham I was still doubting whether or not I was doing the right thing. But seeing the shell in the flesh and having the metal (not rust) to look at, I was blown away by it. Yes it has a few extra MK4 strengthening bits here and there that are not period, but nothing a spot weld drill won't sort out.
The finishing of the shell leaves a lot to be desired and there are some sketchy, sharp, hand ripper bits that I need to keep my eye out for, but to have a shell with no rot is awesome and a super solid base for a full on special rally car.....you know the sort.....the MK2 Escort type that make you drool.
Planning is the next step, and seeing as my other shell is still at home currently I can systematically compare the two like for like and note down which bits can be dumped and which holes need welding up in firewalls etc. In the planning stage I really need to get everything down on paper and plan the build.....not so I don't forget anything, more due to being shy on spare time since becoming a father. That way, I can make sure stuff is done to some sort of timeframe and you won't be reading this thread in a couple of years time wondering what happened!!!

Cheers mate......you won't be jealous of the bill!!!!
Plus, how straight are the floors not going to be after it's first road event....let alone stage rally. I'm going to end up turning into a bloody show queen trailering the car everywhere and polishing tyres!!!!
Naaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!
