Cheers Keith....I think it has got to the stage now where every nut, bolt and screw has either been undone or changed on this car so I do know it inside out!!!!  I'm just glad it went back together ok and ran fine in the end.  Just need to get the proper big valve head on it next to help it rev a bit better and sort out an oil leak that has developed for some unknown reason....gotta love old cars!!!

More photo's of Beeston here......

You did remember to put the sump plug back in...??!!  :whistling:  :D

(my old man once put his car in for a service & the mechanic told him he couldn't understand why it was taking so much oil - until he actually realised he hadn't put the plug back in!!!)

Cheers Richard....didn't have alot of luck to be honest.  A slight navigational error saw us drop 7 minutes in the first half which kind of stuffed us for the rest of the event really.  But it was a challenging route to say the least!!!  Super rough in places - more like green lane 4x4 tracks!!!!  Finished 33rd OA and 20th expert.  Happy to finish, and my first proper 'welsh' championship event.....a learning curve!

Now the 2nd installment from the ToC 2015.

So last time i left the event at Beeston.....next up was a regularity and then on the Delamere and a test. Was a good blast around the old Marley Tile works site.....some nice grippy tarmac, a bit of mud, gravel and the usual water splash!

So far...so good and on to the mid morning coffee stop - all very civilised I know!

We were 10th OA at coffee.

Next up was a long regularity heading south past Oulton park and on to Shrewsbury area and another set of tests.  It was here that it all went a bit wrong.  One the regularity we got stuck at a junction in traffic and missed a couple of speed changes. This threw our timing out completely and we got 64 second penalties on one and another 70 seconds on another....on an event that is so close, we would be hard pushed to make the time back.

On to Shrewsbury and 2 tests before lunch and another 2 after.  Below are some photos taken by Richard19.  Always nice to meet a fellow TMF member and mini enthusiast...even better when they can take a mean shot with a camera!! cheers.

Ha ha...I know it is hard to believe...but it was sunny!  Jari Matti Latvala seems to get away with yellow ones on some rallies so figured i'd try and emulate him.

First round of KDMC's grass autotest championship last night. Was slippy after some light rain and the Falken tyres didn't exactly grip well (compared to my rally tyres anyway!!) but still managed to get 1st overall (or FTD as it is known....not sure why). So 20 points to me for the championship thankyou very much.

Got a month until the next one so a wee bit of engine fettling and getting the big valve head refitted is the next plan of action.

FTD - Fastest Track Distance ie the fastest person to complete the whole course/distance. If in the very unlikely event no-one completed the whole course the result would fall back to 'furthest fastest'.
You will have come across 'furthest cleanest' in your rallying I presume?

Yeh....who can go the furthest without soiling themselves.....that what you mean?? ha ha.

Why not just 1st overall though rather than FTD?

FTD is also Fastest Time of Day - at least it is in hillclimbing & sprinting!

That looks fun again Dave!
