Exactly what I thought to be honest. Happened so quick that there was no chance I was saving it. If there was a DSO it would have been the end of our event....if there had been a car coming it would have been the end of our car!!!!
But...if you ain't having moments.....you ain't trying!!!!

I never for a moment thought you'd say yes...!! Current plans for ours are to get it rebuilt properly over the winter & see where we go from there. We were so impressed by the Mazda on Epynt we may sell the Mini & build a mod prod RX-8 - where else can you get 200+ bhp & RWD for less than £1500?!
Do you think you'd ever go back to using the Mini on night events now?

Yes.....if they run a historic class or the Ibiza goes pop . In all honesty a mini is still fairly competative on night events as a bloke called Pete Tyson runs one and always finishes top 10.
RWD for less than 1500????........Imprezza with some drive shafts missing???

September 6th.....so if anyone is in north wales on that day, come and have a look....one of the best historic road rallies in the UK with some very nice cars on show!
Busy next weekend mechanicing for a mate on a single venue stage rally up in the lake district.
Down your way (ish) again Keith for the Ross on the 19th.
So...better get well and truely in engine building mode so I have plenty of shakedown time otherwise this year will be a complete write off in the mini competition wise.

That's good - so he's got the Sprint working properly then?
And given our write off year with the Mini due to lack of shakedown & testing I think you do need to shake a leg...!! Good luck with it!

Not a mini update....but figured i'd share it as i'm all for new people getting into motorsport and having a go.
Got out last night and competed in Knutsford and District MC's grass championship. This event was a PCT (Production Car Trial) which involves passing through a series of gates going uphill, round bends, through and over bumps.
Had a great night and was superb to see so many people from the club - both competing and just along for a look.
Double entered with my wife with the clutch (which admitadly is on its last legs) gaving us problems all night and at one point wouldn't let us engage any gears!!! Have got a clutch out of a VR6 waiting to replace it once the mini is rebuilt and running - don't like having 2 cars in bits!!!!
Ended up finishing 1st overall and my wife scooped 1st novice and 3rd overall.
