The three on the right are wrong...???
Once you've got the Ibiza to where you're happy with her Dave, & then decide to sell her, can I have first refusal please....??!!

Trouble is Keith, I may never want to sell her with the amount of effort i'm putting in....spent yesturday under a rigged up tarp in the pouring rain fitting a cam belt....commitment or committed???
Forgot to say, the valves were all in sealed bags when I took them to the engineers - hense my surprise when he'd opened them. Can't wait to have another moan at minispares!!!

Like i said in another topic, there are some retards employed by minispares packing department lol.
You gonna be using that wooden crate? if not then... ill be more than happy to remove it from your premises...

It wasn't Minispares fault as such as the valves all came in sealed paper packets so no way the packers at Minispares could tell. My gripe is with their in house quality control. This is the second item from the same order that has been faulty or wrong....who knows how many other bits out of the thousands of orders they send out they get wrong too....judging by the time it's taken the returns department to get some replacement big ends out to me they must have alot of returns to deal with....i've still not got any by the way!
As for the wooden crate. I will rent it out to you (beer token!) if you need to send anything away, but it is staying in my garage i'm afraid as it will be perfect for storing a spare gearbox in!! I did make it though so can give you plans for you to knock one up yourself - less than a tenners worth of 1/2" ply and a few screws

ahh you made it yourself, thought you got it from the gearbox guy. no worries.
I see. Ive gotten gaskets crammed into boxes numerous times and countless wrong parts (Although most being nuts and bolts... its still a pain)
Ide say show me the plans but ide probably never get round to making it
the seat looks, well.. erm... in progress

Yeh, i didn't want to send it via a courier in anything other than a decent wooden crate and had seeing as i've got a proper table saw in work i figured the shuttering ply in the wood rack could be put to good use......and hey presto. The clever bit is inside as the gearbox is bolted into the box to stop it moving around.

Very professional Dave - but then that's like everything else you do, very neat work!

Simon from Minispares is a legend!!!! Got on the valve issue quick smart and sent 3 replacements out which i dropped off at the engineers this evening.....engine build finally heading in the right direction. As soon as i start putting everything together and making stuff look a bit less like a pile of bits I will post up some photo's.
In the meantime, i've got myself a 3/8" reamer and going to replace the throttle spindle bushes in my carbs....will plug brain in for that one as if i get it wrong the carb bodies are scrap....no pressue then...ha ha

No mini updates recently as the Ibiza has taken a step forward in development and been competing in that and did the Automark rally last month (3rd in Class and 6th O/A).
Out in it tonight for the GP memorial (same event we did last year in the mini) and as soon as that is over the A series rebuild starts and going to get the car fighting fit for a historic rally in early september.

Have fun tonight Dave!
Our Mini is up the local garage - try as we might we couldn't get the exhaust back on when the car was up on axle stands this week, so Phil's mate is working up there now & as he's an ex Kwik Fit fitter we've left it to him to sort! Apparently the manifold has been rubbing on the driveshaft (which is fine) but the manifold has almost worn through - it was also the reason we couldn't get it to fit! So he's fabricating a spacing bracket & we've put a full Maniflow system on the Christmas list!! Hopefully he can sort it, because Epynt hillclimb is next weekend!

Not a mini update, just the reason i've not been rebuilding engine and updating this build properly with photo's of lovely engine bits.
And thanks to Simon on here i got the heads up that we appeared in Motorsport News and thanks to someone from my motorclub i got myself a copy.
