Hi all,

After a decent starter grease gun! Any recommendations? Bought a Laser one from my local auto centre and on first use the flexible hose i bought as extra fell apart, then on the second nipple the seals in the gun itself broke. Had the car all jacked up too.

Is the one on mini spares any good?

Regards, Duncan

Guson, silverline, draper to name a few have great guns (grease guns) at reasonable prices but the way i see it is if your going
to need it in the near & distant future you may as well pay for the quality.

Clifford

Whats peoples feelings on the Wesco ones from Halfords? They're rather inexpensive.

I had a wesco and it wasn't too great. I need to get a decent on to replace it.

If you can find a Swiss made Wanner on Ebay, go for it. They really are the best, but quality does not come cheap.

I've got a halfords one, works ok. The best thing you can do to a grease gun though is get a flexible hose for it, makes it much easier.

Halfords also sell the flexible hoses which fit the wesco gun they sell and i've never had a problem.

The little 1 handed grease guns look pretty good, but i've read that since finding cartridges are basically non existent for them, you need to manually pack them with grease - Messy to say the least!

I have a trick to make it less messy. If you put on a latex type glove then grab a handful of grease, you can then turn the glove inside out and have a bag of grease. It can then be squeezed mess free into the grease gun.

I went draper 3000psi hand pump one or something.

I tried super cheap one and bent the whole damn thing.

"Draper 47807 500Cc Grease Gun", thick steel, chunky as hell, I have yet to have any problems with it.
