Nor will aluminium alloy nuts be safe for continuous road use. They may be ok for posing at shows, but I would strongly recommend that no-one ever drives with them fitted.

You can get (don't ask me where, only seen them not bought) nut 'caps' plastic I imagine, dummy heads that pop over the top of your steel wheel nut in a pleasing colour.

Bit of a pain if you take your wheels off with the frequency I seem too, but could be an option.

they're not the right size, but if you're worried about aluminium nuts not being strong enough then something like these might be of use if you can find the right size. just in case you were thinking of writing off the coloured nuts idea!

I ran alloy nuts on my Subaru for years without any issues! thats nut a justification, but as they call them "tuner lugs" and loads of people use them they must be of a quite high standard/quality.

Ref the Mini thread/size, I'm looking into this at the moment, I've found a company that sell them in Blue, Chrome, Green, Dark Green, Black, Matte Black, Nickel, Orange, Pink, Grey, Purple, Red, Titanium and Gold.

I will update here once I get prices and delivery costs etc; the website is rather rubbish!

If we get a bit of interest I'll see if they'll do discount if we buy a few sets, Group buy anybody?

Sandblast your nuts then paint your nuts, do your nuts up tight with a bit of tissue in your socket to prevent chipping.

Sounds painful.
