Now I know that the A-series has been made into a table before and its popularity is high due to the amount of 998 blocks available.
However I personally havent seen one as a engine/gearbox combo so I thought I would use my old A+ 998 block and box.

What do you think ? I have access to a larger 60 X 40 cm sheet of tempered glass also.
I quite like the way you can look down the bores into the gearbox, so I was thinking about placing a couple of LED's in the box to illuminate it all. Or should I make too seperate tables, one from the block and one from the box ?

If I keep it together, should I bolt on the transfer case ? Mabey an old dizzy. I like to see the mechanical items that make the engine work but dont want to go over board.

By the way this is just a mock up. And the glass is clean, its just the reflection. Also what could I use to secure the glass in place ? I would like to keep the engine number tag in place, so it would have to be raised. I dont want to use those white double sided sticky pads though.

Any opinions

Thanks
Elliott

Do you mean there unique resin ? I need some way to suspend it about 4mm above the deck to keep the tag. By the way, the firing order lights sound awesome. However electrics are not my strong point.

well lots of cars have bonded in screens nowadays instead of rubber seals, so if you use some engine mounts between the block and the glass to give u a gap and use auto glasses bonding agent that should work?

It could work. However I don't really want to see any resin/ silicon through the glass. Some sort of bolt would be perfect but since the glass carnt be drilled I will have to look at other ideas. I need something subtle and possibly engine related.

I know that glass can be drilled. But the glass I have is tempered. It came from a computer table keyboard tray. However I could use some bolts in the head stud holes with some sillicone type adhesive on top. Then place the glass on top.

Superglue?

That would work, I just need to find some suitable bolts to raise the glass above the deck.

Thanks for the replies.
The suction cups would work well, however Im wanting something neater. I think I will have to remove the engine tag to get the neatness I want. Its the only way to have a secure, safe and clean look. Any other Ideas on what parts should be added/ left off the block ?
