My mate (also at rover) got a sportspack aswell but he got his from Hartwells when they were down botley road. They cost the same but if you brought a new car from kernahans you got 3d style number plates, a tank of petrol and a bunch of flowers thrown in!
That Hartwells is one of those storage places now.

Smith & Wesby were Leyland dealers in Saxmundham in the 1980's and Morris before that.

Is that Saxmundham in Suffolk nr Leiston? If so, I never knew there was a dealership there, my ex girlfriend lives in the next village.

Yes, it is that Saxmundham. In the 1960's there was three Austin dealers as well as Smith & Wesby who were the Morris dealers.

In Leiston there was Keeble Smith Motors at Carr Avenue Garage who were Morris dealers.

Any one got any info on Berkeley Vale Motors in Thornbury Road, Bristol? They were apparently a main Rover dealer but now a Hyundai dealer. I really want a dealer sticker (1991 vintage) or photo of one.

Any info on this one? As it seams odd I have zero previous history of the car, with it only ever having 2 previous owners and it being registered on an A plate.

Mann Egerton were a large dealer network. Started off in Norwich doing non- car related things and then pretty much opened dealerships all over the place. Most of them were taken over by Inchcape, however a Mann Egerton still exists in Exeter.

There's your dealer sticker.

Doesn't look like there's a car dealership there anymore, at Acrewood Way, Hatfield Road.

Harry Fisk of Diss, Norfolk, is where my car came from and it's still around 20 miles from there, and has been all it's life!

Whereabouts is/was Harry Fisk in Diss? The Austin dealer when I was a kid living in Diss was Kitchen Brothers on Victoria Rd (near the railway bridge).

Great thread, some top knowledge and images. I'm also on the dealer sticker repro path :) Trying to track down original dealer for our Designer, registered in Chelmsford in 1988 and our Cooper, registered in North East London in 1990. Anyone remember any dealers from these areas? I know about Lookers in Chelmsford - would they have been an Austin Rover dealer in '88? Anyone know what their logo / dealer sticker looked like then?

I can check this when I get home this evening as my '89 still has the handbook pack, which includes a dealer list...
