I have removed the air conditioner on my japan spec SPI 1.3 mayfair (1995) and was wondering if I should do anything with the 2 wires from a/c wiring to engine ECU. Red/white & green/white wires, not sure what they do, the a/c system wiring isn't in my workshop manual. Probably idle up or fan or similar feeds. Anyone else done this?

Assuming that the wiring is similar to the 1997 Japanese Mini (page 24 of the aatached PDF link) the red/white is for the compressor clutch relay and condenser fan relay The green/white for the dual pressure switch. The dual pressure switch signal is probably what tells the ECU to idle up when the compressor is engaged. I know that with the SP ACR connected to mine I can turn on and off the condenser fan.

I assume that if you leave them alone you should be ok. And hell no! I am not removing the A/C system. I just put it all back together after after 6 months of being apart due to a broken diff.

I've removed them from mine and have had no issues.

Bloody ripper, thanks xrocketengineer, I'll keep the diagram on file. Although I'm in tropical Queensland Australia, I still recon A/C's not needed in a mini so I'm flogging it off on ebay, to buy more goodies from minispares.........yeah!
This is mini number 11, and probably the last, so it's gotta be just right. When I work out the picture thingo (old usless git) I'll post some picts up.

I have a 1994 Japanese Cooper with a/c. I have not been able to find any information on the a/c system other than part numbers that you can get from Minimania, Minispares and Somerford.
