Not because I'm in any way easily persuaded, not at all. I meant to do it anyway.

But today I gave Ogy a little present for being so awesome... Which was before I found out I've blown the head gasket >_<
Oh well, it's an easy fix and a skim on the head means more compression :D

Went for a limo shade but not solid black, it actually looks pretty light in the pics but the sun was blazing (okay it was up) through the windscreen.

Gearbox has been pushed suitably hard i'd say. Seems okay, bit of flaring between gears (over rev) but nothing drastic and I got the park lock working too. Will give it another oil change after a few more miles and hopefully it should see me over until I get the new one built up.

Do need to get the speedo accurate though, haha.

Think I'm going to go back next week and get the front windows done too, lighter but just to co-ordinate it a bit. As it was really good value ;D

Not a whole lot happening, mostly hindered by still no electricity. :goaway:

But the next step will be making and fitting the dash, along with the new gauges and speaker pods plus making up the new sub enclosure and amp racking.

Head is back on and bolted up, did lose my steel rule somewhere though... Still the engine runs and seems happy enough, although a fair amount of cream still making its way out the rocker cover. Hopefully it's just from the previous leak and the few days the head was off the block and it snowed.
If not then... Block skim I guess :mmkay:

So given I need to put some miles on the car to find out what the oil situation is I went up the Terry the Tint today as one of the windows was slightly off and I could see light past the edge of the tint.
Not only was he happy to replace the problematic piece but also wasn't happy with the other side so re did that too (I thought it was fine myself) and as he was at it I swapped to a slightly darker shade for the rear quarters.

This weekend I aim to get the new calipers and discs on ready for some 10's but at the moment it's mostly weather and extra pair of hands dependant.

Pics as usual:
If you compare the pics really closely, you just see the difference =]

Hey man, thanks :D

I love it too (mostly, more so when it stops eating HG's).

No idea is the louvre is original or not, it's black... I stuck it on with tiger seal, a lot of tiger seal. In fact probably enough tiger seal to attach a whole bodykit with! But it won't be falling off, that's the main thing, right? O_O

Tempus fugit! O_O

Nearly a month past with no updates, I'm very sorry to you all.

Turns out the HG issue was a crap torque wrench, after the loan of Halfords pro one everything seems happier for now.
Haven't actually road tested it yet but the water has stopped disappearing at least.

I'd love to report that everything was back on track and I've been cracking on with the ICE and dashboard (ha!) but I haven't.
I have however gone through about 20L of oil trying to purge the coolant out the sump and it's still not clean. Nothing left now but to rag the balls off the car for a 100 miles and change it once again see if that helps I guess.

I am however left with a curiosity in that the temp gauge no longer goes up, I've tested the circuit and the gauge (plus tried another one) and the sender as well as the circuit and they all work. The engine is also hot as expected, why the gauge doesn't go up... I don't know.

In the meantime I also got around to fitting the geometry kit, or the front half at least. Those rear camber bracket bolts are being stubborn!
Posted Image

But while I was at it I made the switch to some smaller wheels, with brakes to accompany.

Fitting was easy enough but I did need to trim the pads a little as new pads + new discs meant there was no wheel turning going on. Which is ironic because when I came to bleed the brakes getting a firm pedal action is eluding me.
I'm not sure if it's because of the servo (shouldn't be) or if my current inability to get the rear bleed nipples loose is more to blame (probably) but either way it doesn't feel just right yet. The challenge continues.

Next on the agenda (assuming both the HG and brakes are done faffing about) is the rest of the camber brackets, followed by a session having them correctly set up as well as trialing the rather swanky Alpha Romeo seats that Rob dropped off.
After that... No, of course I'm not going to install the new ICE. I'm going to flat and polish the paintwork and get started on the turbo engine! :w00t:

Oh and for anyone curious how I got the wheels so nice and shiny. Slave labour, that's how! ;D
