This is the adhesive I used for my headliner. Takes a little time to cure, so time to work with it, but sticks well.

Regardless of the glue cost... the pump style glue applicator shown on the bottom of the page looks REALLY smart. As long as it's easy to clean that seems like a great product for someone doing a lot of gluing with contact adhesives.
