This is the loudest.mini.ive ever had..... Not only the engine but road nice of the tyres seem to be echoed in the arches.... I dobt think sound proofing was added from when the car was rebuilt............... where is the sound proofing? What does it look like? How much would it cost to add????

Where should it be is a better quesion. In which the answer is anywhere noise is being transmitted.
Obvious places are floor, arches, front bulkhead, in theory on the windscreen too but apparently that's frowned upon
Then you want some deadening too, something to stop rattles - on a mini, that's basically everywhere.
Cost wise, there's 2 routes. Budget and brand name. Does the brand name route give better results? Well, down the pub you'll gain more points for having it but beyond that it's debatable.
I went budget and all in cost me about £70. That included mass loading the whole car, to stop rattles. Then heavily deadening the whole car including doors, boot & lid, plus the whole interior.
For this I used the following:
Flashing tape £20
Closed cell foam £45
Carpet underlay £5
The original stuff, if it's still there will look like someone spilt paste on the floor of the mini and it dried. It'll be somewhere between green and grey and look like set cement.

You're looking to put soundproofing in but yet in your other topic you're thinking about fitting a twin DTM?!?!
