So far this year I have barely used Stinky, my '79 clubby estate, Baby Shifty won't go in him and he's sat there doing nothing. I'm therefore seriously thinking of selling him.

I've done a ruck of work to him.

.

http://www.theminifo...age__hl__stinky

He's currently taxed to the end of the month and mot till august, I will put 12 months on him.

Lets Start with the good bits!!

I've done all the welding, new sills floors etc, all seam welded and treated.

Engine..

New clutch
Guessworks Gearbox
Timing chain
Followers
Oil Pump
Rebuilt head and converted to unleaded
New dizzy and electronic ignition
New Rad and water hosed
New water pump
New alternator

Brakes

New 7.5" discs(new hubs/brgs etc)
New rear brake cylinders
New brake drums
Goodridge hoses
New Master cylinder
New compensator valve
Some lines replaced as required

Suspension

Genuine Hi-los
New cones all round
Gas adjust shocks
Genuine Knuckles

Other

Halgeon headlamps
Underseat speakers

Hes also got a Brand new set of Mamba alloys as well, along with the arches.

There's probably loads more stuff that I've forgotten, but I've spent a shed load on him, all the parts listed above are new. He drives lovely and is reliable.

I'm not gonna make any secret of the problems, many of you will have seen him at shows and will know he's a bit tatty!!

When I got him there was a dent in the side, I've bashed it out and not got any further!! There's patches of red oxide on the body where I've welded. Theres some rust on the rear doors.

Interior wise I've fitted brown mayfair seats and door cards, I've got some brown trim panels to go in as well. The carpets are good

The other issue is the engine has an oil leak(maybe an oil river would be more accurate), when I put the new gearbox in I must have trapped the crank seal, I've been ignoring it as I can't be arsed to take the engine out to fix it!!

I actually like the way he looks, he sits well and you're not afraid to use him, he's a good usuable car.

I'm located in Telford, Shropshire, delivery is also possible

£1800.

Baby Shifty loves the cabby, its Daddys "noisy car"!! She even asks for the roof to come down!!

Stinkys a waste of tax/mot/insurance at the moment, I'd rather plough some cash into Poo(and possibly some new rims for the cabby!!)

Must resist...I take it you can't really drive it far until the oil leak is sorted?

The oil leak doesn't affect you using him, its been like that since January. I've been all over the place in him. It's just really annoying. I've probably done 500 miles in him, maybe a bit more.

My intention was to ignore it this year and then pull the engine again over winter.

He will get you where you want to and back, just don't park him on someones new driveway!

I should also say that I'm assuming that its coming from the crank seal, i'm saying that as its the most difficult to change. Its coming from the timing side of the engine, I've got some dye to put in the oil to double check where its coming from and I'll try and do that at the weekend.

Did not want to see this! just earlier was looking at next project ideas and a clubby estate was the plan, and also dosnt help that the insurance cost for this is less than i am paying now for mine.

good job I dont have the money for this, shame as if I did I would be seriously tempted, good luck with the sale!

Better be quick, he's gonna be mot'd next week. I plan on having a look at the oil leak as well this weekend.

After that if he hasn't sold via TMF its off to ebay he goes!!

If I give the body a quick tidy up and some paint, make the oil leak bearable and fit the new interior parts I don't see him making less that £2200.

I really can't be arsed and would rather sell him 'as is' but if I have to I will!!
