Great read geezer - welding newbie to fabrication guru in 53 pages. Very inspiring, really makes me want to dust off my welder and learn to do it properly!

You can see the front of the mounting ring here it's just bolted to the light pods in the shaped hole o cut

Spent the last few days trying to get some lights on the dash and get the fuel pump priming but I missed and earth and then Today's aim getting g the car to run

K series mini first start:

Missed an earth and it started instantly although it runs away with itself a little I think the throttle sensor needs calibration

Must be awesome when it starts for the first time.  Is it spraying water everywhere in the video?

I'm glad it ran even with no exhaust it was still exiting. It was fibreglass dust from where I installed my headlamps last week

Still plugging away

After giving up on my fuel tank I got a 044 pump and mounted it in the boot along with the filter to tidy up the bulkhead

20150611_151957_zpsp92ysdz8.jpg

Finished off the exhaust

20150601_192035_zpsyggfxgev.jpg

20150601_191440_zpskm9j7qvj.jpg

Fitted some sound deadening to the bulkhead and made a bracket for the expansion bottle and fitted it and plumbed in the rest of the cooling system I've just looped the heater for now leaving it out

20150612_133133_zpsax6jf73x.jpg

Fitted a boot release cable

20150611_152003_zpseopwuz8w.jpg

20150611_152016_zpsulndhzu2.jpg

Rear brakes all done

20150601_191727_zpshx9edt9e.jpg

20150601_191745_zpshp1rswhs.jpg

And finished off the gear linkage and fitted

20150611_152102_zpslnifrvfi.jpg

Front brakes and wiring the wiper motor and washer bottle left then tidy the inside

Then took it for a little drive no videos of driving but got one of it running up to temp

K mini series running: https://youtu.be/362DLPoAXQw

Then disaster struck
