Yes come on the slab fronts ha ha good lad same front as mine I think which means you can't fit the original grill, bummer really. But good lax on the change you kept that on the down low

Ha cheers mate I think I'm going to have a go at a standard grill I just love the flat front look

Look foreword to see how you do this as it looks a pig to me as the original front had the headlight mounting panel about 1 1/2" back where as these fronts have about 1/4" lol so will need compleat lay cut out and recessed back further if you get me lol

Coming along well mate, would be good if you can get a proper grill in there.

Give me a shout if you need any measurements mines stripped out at the moment, and i have got a grill you can loan while i don't need it if you want a try anything out before you have to get one

Cheers mate I'd love some measurements of how deep the headlight mounting point is and a few detailed close ups of that whole area. That would be great

Bored of sanding already so.

Gear linkage mk3 ish

Made up this little bracket

D17BF4F8-AC32-418A-A233-6B0A740D05B5_zps

D6DDB4F2-E2A7-4764-958E-436C5E2BE815_zps

That fits on the gear change like this

D2494F35-064B-48EA-9087-28949B7092DB_zps

It will bolt directly to the tunnel so it solid mounted and on the front to control the front lift ill use this with a couple of spacers in a hole drilled into the change mech

5477545D-3181-43E7-BA8C-67ABC7FF596C_zps

Il get it bolted in in the next few days so more to come

Bolted all the linkage in today looks much better than my first attempts

080A3DE8-C02D-4A87-B598-2DF4ABC8B277_zps

The only problem now with bringing inside the car and turning left slightly is the gear stick in center sits like this

99D7FAFC-A518-4987-A42C-4E8AA69A6608_zps

So on that note does anyone know if this can be moved?

6E1B6537-213D-466C-964A-19E218A809F4_zps

Failing that if I was to drill and tap in a grub screw in this possition would it still operate the same?

I went a different route in the end just ground a new slot into the gearstick end

7AA3F0A6-4018-4CE2-870C-683A0FE7017A_zps

And it sits just where I want it now

They are a bit dark, but let me know any areas you want more of and i will use a better camera

Let me know what bits you want measurements of, the head light brackets are 60mm deep on the outsides and 70mm deep towards the middle

Got the steering column and drivers seat done today

I started by pressing/violently hammering the end of a mini steering column into the fixed uj on the rover one it doesn't fit normally so a tickle with the grinder is needed

CF993FC7-BF05-4C2C-B077-E3CEDD86D185_zps

I then welded the joint so it's not going anywhere now

Then using parts of the rover column and bits of the mini I got it all fitted

Also fitted the drivers seat using a modified subframe

Really happy with my driving position

I'm using the full rover loom and stalks plus I get to keep the immobiliser in the ignition ring and then the fact that the rover column is far better using bearings and makes the steering much smoother

Got the clutch sorted out yesterday.

Started by modifying the pedal

7BBED99D-96F2-42B2-BBE0-0154D0CDB688_zps

Then made this plate for the bulkhead using the original cup off the mg pedal box

16D3F636-57B0-4285-B283-B3042D6F5B97_zps

Hooked it up on the inside

ED7E92D2-A85A-4D95-9A44-B16D620AA847_zps

The wheeled the motor over to try it out works perfect

64CA6672-FA3C-41B1-81D8-FBB5037D98DA_zps

Another job ticked off the list
