I think, and I could be wrong but moving the temp sender shouldn't be tricky job. Plug / weld up the old one and tap a new hole.

Well seems you've got some tweaking to do before building the next one :D

:whistling:

I'm just going to cut this one down and move the temp senders elsewhere then it's not a problem.

One last move of the top arm and its done most of my problems come from me wanting the motor to sit dead square but looking at other builds it seems they all sit squint so it's almost done

Cheers mate been taking a little time out lately so a massive lack of progress. The bonnet was laid on the wings and front panel that I welded together as normal and tacked the bonnet on anywhere it touched basically then flipped it over and folded the wing lip over the bonnet lip and again welded anywhere that touched. My bonnet gaps will be filled just like the wing gaps with sealant

Small update but I think is a good one

I got the other side tiebar mount cut and in then started bolting bits on to see how it all fits

null_zps572efaa7.jpg

The main aim of this was to check my turning limit with the fiesta calipers so from here

null_zpsd6a6816e.jpg

To here

null_zps3df9837e.jpg

This is where the caliper carrier hits the tiebar so I need to check the stroke of a steering rack to see if limiters are needed

More tomorrow. Cheers

Nice work, dude. From an eye perspective I think you might be okay or just the slimmest of limits needed.

:highfive:

I can take a few mm out if the carrier if needed just need to get a rack fitted to see but that looks an ok amount of turn

Gotta do what you like! Best part about the mini it seems is everyone puts a bit of their own style in it.

Thanks for the help on the flip lid too!!

Cheers Carlos and roughneckin

Another small update from yesterday and today.
I threw the engine back in to get the final position then made a removable gearbox mount

null_zpsee48acd0.jpg

null_zpsf181a69c.jpg

Then took a chunk out if the front of the frame (don't worry it will be a removable 6mm bar when I get some of it)

null_zps199a964c.jpg

And there it is hanging freely in the frame for the first time just needs some steadies
But it's done and I can crack on now painting the frame

Cheers Darren

Darren,

I like the engine conversions to be honest.  I find them fascinating but still can't figure out how the drive shaft side of things work.  A mini with a mor epowerful engine can only be even more fun imo.  Keep at it my man,  I will be watching !!
