That looks fantastic, dude! Coming together so fast now :D

So when do you want your frame done? Lol

Ahh man, you always know how to cheer me up.

Added another "hiccup" on the coupe list today.

Get your frame finished and finalised, your baby has to come first ;-)

But I think flip fronting Ogy might be a good way to go, ease of access / adjustments.

Need to get a look on the auto tranny to see how the size and mounts differ.

And what is the latest hiccup?

When mine is done ill gladly knock you up a frame I think due to the size of of the auto sticking out the back you may need to go clubby at the least and maybe even extended so the engine can sit further forward

Hmm interesting, there's 2 or 3 guys have squeezed an auto in the stock length so it must be possible. Just very tight :P

Can always make a small box for the bulkhead.

Hiccup is the oil pressure light... doesn't. Checked the bulb and back half of the circuit today, tomorrow I'll ground it to confirm if it's the sensor.

Either way I've gotta call the dealer.

Ho hum, anyway enough of that. Weld your frame up and show us the engine fitted! :D

Had a good day today prepared the daily for the mot needed two tyres a cv boot and a few odds and sods then carried on with the frame. Dropped the engine in and instantly could see the engine could be lifted an inch or so but that's for another day so concentrated on the rear mounts.

Made up a simple but affective jig to hold the rear floor mount position then cut the rest if the frame out

null_zps133cb44a.jpg

Then tacked together the bits I'd measured and cut earlier to formtbesame shape as the old frame parts

null_zps49309c98.jpg

And this is how the frame is looking now shame I only had a hour I this today

null_zpsea0afde9.jpg

Got tomorrow afternoon to do more so that's all for now

Bit more done today

Started by cutting the excess of of my solid floor mounts to leave just a flat plate

null_zpsdc102932.jpg

Then cut and tacked in the rear arms

null_zps22b32cd3.jpg

Got a pretty good fit on these the angles were all over the place

null_zps3c765e2c.jpg

Then replicated the other side and bolted on to the car. I know it looks a little off but I madrone side of my cross brace sit further back for the extra few mm clearance in the gearbox

null_zpsf5809a5a.jpg

And this is how it sits now just need to raise up tfe top arm 30mm and its done. No more now until Monday so see you then. Darren

Well I did say no more play until Monday as its the wife's birthday but she went shopping. I had a little parcel this morning

null_zpsa7982b18.jpg

Then raised the top arms up 30mm looks the same as the last post unless you know what your looking at lol

null_zps021056e5.jpg

Then dropped the motor in and out the front on

null_zps0691f35f.jpg

And then some of my fitment issues I need to take a notch out for the oil filter neck bit

null_zps84b2608b.jpg

And the gearbox bell housing but the removable front bar will sort this out

null_zps421dcf25.jpg

And under the bonnet

null_zps1d251bd5.jpg

And the most worrying part is the water outlet it's pretty close to the grill I just hope I can get a tight enough bend on the hose

null_zpsd67775a9.jpg

That really is all for now lol

Ahh, sweet! Presents all round then :P

I bet the oil sender pipe is really thin walled, should be able to get a mm off of it though and maybe a nibble out the frame upright?

One water outlet I reckon you could shave the pipe back some, depending on how long it is.

Otherwise just add a spacer onto the back of the grille to bring it out 5mm or so, will never notice once on the car.

:D

Im going to take all the room needed out of the frame the oil pipe will be far too thin. Never thought about trimming the outlet down also could do with moving the temp sensor too also the frame needs to be wider on the gearbox side only by 20mm or so just the same as the other side

I think, and I could be wrong but moving the temp sender shouldn't be tricky job. Plug / weld up the old one and tap a new hole.

Well seems you've got some tweaking to do before building the next one :D
