As far as can be told the engine is out of an allegro or maxi and ive not pulled it apart to have a good check as im rubbish at that sort of stuff.
Gearbox has had the guessworks treatment and ive put a new oil and fuel pump, plugs, leads, coil etc etc n so touch wood it will be ok.
Im not after speed just reliability thats why ive gone for the 123 dizzy and pretty standard spec.

I've only gone 1380, because I got my block cheap lol (£40) and going for a lairy cam, because even for a "stock" rebuild, it'll need rebuilding even 10k or so, I thought why not just have fun with it.
Should be pretty pokey yours thou, bit more torque, get some twins onto it, and you'll eb pulling trains

Bought some 6x12" revos of a forum member, exactly the same size and offset as my current ones but the new ones have the big dish 2.5" as opposed to the standard 1" dish. The laquer is wrecked though so ive been onto a local company about diamond cutting them.
Sprayed my amp to colour code to the car and gave my steering wheel a polish, got some new bolts for it but just need to polish them up.
Its a genuine moto lita boss which I discovered is alloy, some nitromorse and a good bit of work on my polishing wheel and hey presto.
My mate is making me some sub frames to mount my evo seats but hes taking forever as he seems to keep forgeting. If only I had a welder!
Heres some pics and hopefully I will have some funds and be able to get going again.

Got a new petrol tank which is off to be powder coated silver today.
Put the dash in to see what it looked like with the steering wheel (without the centre peice though)
wiring for headlights/sidelights/indicators and engine is now about finished, just some sleaving to put over to tidy it up a bit.
sanded my door pods ready for spraying but then decided to give covering them a try. Material was only £3.99 so worth a try, looks a bit cheesy but when its on the black door cards with polished alloy handles etc should look ok. Worst case is they look rubbish and I spray or recover with something else.
Rear lights are all finished and wired up. The boot lock had some overspray from its original paint job before I bought it, its alloy so I stripped the paint and polished it up which looks loads better. The boots not properly shut in the pic and im still thinking about some chrome vynil over the bumper peice to make it look more like a bumper and less of part of the car.

I bought mine as a complete shell, with frames and engine/box. However, it needs full restoration. So I've got a 1275GT engine/box to go in on new subframe, rear suframe to go in, picked up some wheels on ebay the other week which I will refurb. needs new doors (so I need to try and get the fibreglass door skins off the original and piece onto new door!). needs a complete fit out inside. Underside needs re-worked also, new fuel and brake lines.
Its a bit rough round the edges, its obviously been a cheap as possible done at home conversion when it was originally built.
wheels:
Ford rear lights (think these are from a Ford P100 pickup):
Hope to get started on this project this year and hope to find out as much as possible. Have you ever heard of anyone having a build manual?
I bought mine from a guy called Neil up here in Scotland, I know he had another one after I bought mine but dont know what happened to it.

yes its true its for sale, I just dont have the time to finish it due to family stuff. Have you got any pics of yours swiftminiphoenix, allways good to hear of more turning up. Did you buy it as a shell, a guy up in scotland had one and had to sell it but he had stripped it fully, his name escapes me at the moment.

That would have been Enneaitch (Nick) but as you have said it is now sold. Went to another local guy but never heard any more of it.
Sorry to hear your selling this.

As far as I know there is no build manual for the car, I have scanned copies of a sales booklet but there are very few details about them. Its one of 54 made between 1983 and 1986 by phoenix automotive, it was designed by a former Lotus engineer called Paul Hassauer, he was responsible for the lotus europa which was also a fibreglass body, he also made the clan crusader which was a lot more popular.
