If I could get a rough valuation on my Mini that would be great. I'm not thinking of selling at the moment but it has crossed my mind.

Exterior:

- No rust

- No filler that I know of

- Thick coat of paint in Silver Leaf also Lacquered

- Good condition 25 decals all round (Boot decal is new)

- Black trim ( grill, badge, arches, bumpers, handles, mirrors)

- 25 steel wheels and trims in excellent condition

- Good amount of tread on all tyres

- Greased and Wax Oyled everywhere possible

- Hi Lo's on the front

- Suspension is good

- Brakes stop well

- Ball joints are fine

- Wipers work fine

- Glass is good and Heated rear windsceen

Interior:

- New grey wool carpet and underlay

- Original 25 grey seats with red piping and pockets on the front (not faded)

- Original 25 steering wheel with re painted in red 25 enblem

- Original door cards in very good condition and black plastic pockets

- 3 clock dash with 120mph clock

- mp3 stereo and speaker board with hidden Vibe speakers (Very good clear sound)

- Original Blaupunkt speakers on parcel shelf (unsure if these are working)

- Grey boot liner, spare steel wheel with good tyre

- Heater works fine

Engine:

- 998cc engine which runs fine

- starts fine and drives well

- New head gasket just fitted

- New timing chain

- Readiator replaced a few months back

- Engine could do with a bit of a clean and paint (my next task)

- stage 1 kit (Maniflow exhaust system and K&N air filter) Few months old

10 months Tax and MOT, 57,000 miles on the clock, looked after, serviced at least once a year.

Might have to get a 2 core radiator. Will that make mush difference to the valuation?

With that in mind, what would you say?

Thanks :)

i'd say about £2500 the way things are going with mini prices at the mo, the market for mini's over £2000 doesent seem to be any good at the moment.

Thanks for that mate. That is the sort of figure I'd be looking at seling for If I do ever sell. No less than what I paid at least!

i'll give ya £50 for it ? ;)

just kidding - Im no expert , but I think people are more likely to crave an 'original' example than something messed about with a lot.

from my mini buyers guide book it says of the 1980's minis -

"25% - plentiful; and as a result values are lower. there are many special editions out there, but most have no impact on price, the ones that do will have something other than stickers and a paint job to justify the price gap. which would be up to 15% in the case of the 1100 special , for example. 1980s saloons are pretty much at the bottom of the desirability pile."

the 25% is a percentage based on the amount you could typically hope to get for one compared to the most expensive model (eg - a 1961-71 cooper is listed at 100% or the maximum you would expect to see a mini for).

that being said - I know after all my looking for a car, the spec, colour, trim, year .. all seemed to be forgotten and I got into concentrating on bodywork condition. if you say this has 'no rust' then thats certainly a very strong selling point.

perhaps the lowest £3,500 going up to £4500 ?

good luck with it and hope ya get some more knowledgeable advice .

Cheers for all that, though Im not sure what it all means haha. 25's on ebay seem to sell at all sorts of prices in good and bad condition :s. There aren't that many out there in good condition. Thanks anyways :)

the birthday edition mini's seem to fetch more money than the mainstream limited edition mini's (apart from the mini 35 which was a laim effort at best) the mini 20 (or 1100 special as its best known) seems to be a bit more in demand now than the others but i think thats because it was the first one....and BL did make more of an effort with that one than they did with the others, it had a lot more extras compared to the mainstream mini's of the time and it was the only limited edition mini to be fitted with a different engine compared to the other mini's too (apart from the clubman).
the mini special had a lot of 1st's.............such as the 1st mini to have a locking petrol cap as standard, the first mini to have twin door mirrors as standard, the first mini to have a vinyl roof as standard, the first mini to have alloy wheels as standard, the only mini to have a bespoke centre console fitted, the first mini to have a cigar lighter and a fitted clock, the only round nose mini to have a 1098cc engine fitted from the factory, the first uk spec mini to have wheel arch extensions, the first mini to have side repeaters fitted and the only round nose mini to have clubman rear bumpers fitted to the front of the car as well as the rear.

I am actually thinking about selling my 25 soon and looking for another that isn't limited edition so I can mess around with it a bit without feeling bad about changing it originality.
