This shot will give you some idea of were to attach mirrors to the front wing. There is no set measurement, but some were between 1/3 and 1/2 distance from the headlamp rim to the windscreen is where they are normally fitted.

For all the poeple that have the round wing mirrors nearly at the end of the wing (down by the head light) can you see well??

Can you take a photo from the top? Is the mirror mounted on top of the wing or more toward the outside?
