A Bit Dissapointed After Buying Stub Stack...

Looking at the stack itself you can notice it has a rippled sort of effect round the rim.
Can I smooth this off with a dremel? or does this rippled effect help somehow?
Am I being a bit picky, should I expcet this for a £8 item?

This was the only one I could find at £8 it was cheap I thought! compared to £25 for MED's one and £16 for a pipercross one from Minispares (which comes up with an unknown page error everytime I try selecting it)

Not too bad for 10 minutes work....using 80>120>1000 sand paper!

Well, bit on an update, I decided to keep the stub stack and "port" it myself!

That's what I was going to suggest you do. Most of the cheaper ones are just rough casts that need a bit of work to get them to look good and be smooth. With mine I also put a bit of 400 paper on a flat board and sanded the rear face to ensure a good seal on the gasket on the carb inlet.

I've not seen the ones from MED or SC, but I suspect that they've been machined from a billet of alloy using CAD
