...a bit of a lop sided car. At first I thought it was a flat tyre, but after a quick look around and under the car I found this and a few deposits of white powder under the car.
I pulled the car out today for a bit more investigation. The right side looks fine and at the correct height...
...but the left is a tad low!
I know some of you would think that ride height is great, and that it has "real stance", but I don't think it's that good.
As you can see from the pic the alloy cone under the donut has quite literally collapsed. The upper arm is now resting on the bumpstop and the ball joint looks to be at the limits of its travel.
When I jacked the front end up yet more white powder fell to the ground and the donut became a bit loose!
This is what happens to a suspension cone after 44 years of salty British roads!
Luckily this happened whilst the car was just sitting in the garage, I dread to think what might have happened if it had failed whist tootling down the motorway!. Anyway, I've got a set of Adjusta-Rides to fit, so they'll be going on next week. The thing is though, after getting a good look underneath, I think it's time to start saving up for that resoration (or maybe selling something else!).
