My worries are the rad is so much askew that the fan will be 10 mm further apart from the rad at one end.

addition to the topic - the rad did fit with some elbow grease and mild swearing. What did not last, was the rubber o ring under the plug. It started to leak just when the MOT man was under the car! Luckily the guy did had sense of humour and the mini passes withoud advisories. But 10 minutes later I swapped rubber o ring for copper washer. Not sure how will it last with aluminium plug and body?

Oddly a long thread selling these things has disappeared -
Heat transfer of Al vs Cu is approximately 50%
If you can buy these for £60, including VAT, import duty, shipping and profit both sides of the water, how much do you think they are being made for by the Chinese? I;ll give you a clue...it ain't much, and not much is probably what you are getting.
Having dealt at length with chinese suppliers over the past two years....I wouldn't touch one, especially living where I do and needing a cooling system to be efficient.
I bet no one can tell you heat transfer compared to a copper rad. Nah, the chinese photocopying part industry is not clued up to do calcs, just copy copy copy.

Still an affordable alternative to the standard ones. I had one on my mini for at least 3-years, kept it cool in baking weather and never had any problems. Ultimately its just misinformation on a product that you've never used (in regards to quality).
The cooling efficiancy is another topic though, of which I have little to no knowledge on, but saying that, it still hasn't given me any problems with cooling on a mildy tuned engine (1275, stage one type mods), cant speak for anything of higher tune of course.

The thermal conductivity or heat transfer rate of copper is 92% versus aluminum which is approximately 49%. However, the copper fin bonded to the tubes, or water passages, using lead solder is very inefficient and slows the heat transfer rate to just slightly better than that of aluminum.

Get a Radtec one! -sounds easy but in my case that was the blooming problem!!!!! They were awful to deal with, the Chinese one was bought because Radtec were useless. They were tested back to back and the Chinese one performed as well. It's crazy that the Chinese one took 5 days, but I ended up getting the Radtec one through an intermediary because they were useless and they are less than 12 miles away. Grrrrr!!!!!!!!! If you are purely interested in looks then go Radtec (but be prepared to have unanswered calls, ignored requests for info etc etc). For price, performance and customer service then go Chinese. People go on about 'lasting longer', where is the evidence? I have had three, none have failed despite being abused in various ways from racing to sitting in traffic jams. The oldest is three years and still going strong. The only way I can see a Radtec one lasting longer is that it will be 6 months before you get it! Apart from someone on here who seems very Anti-Chinese and hasn't owned one, all other comments seem to be based on looks. In that case I will scrap the mini and start saving for a 250GTO immediately.mmmmm porn! lolget a radtec one . much nicer last longer . looks better and always will
