been to see a carburettor specialist and he told me the twin solex carbs that i bought are infact japanise copys built under lisence by solex and are from a toyota 2000 GT or celica. problem with this is the parts if you can find them are like 100 dollers a piece from the USA so bit of a ball ache therefore there up for sale (pm me if intrested), on the bright side neil at NE motors is trying to build me a set of twin 40's that will be choked and jetted for the micra engine whats better than buying a random set of ebay and starting from scratch in my view. also bought 5 meters of box section today so get to work on the subframe very soon possibly the weekend. got another mini atm thats taking up alot of my time atm so thats why progress is slow.

another thing i am in deep thought about is ignition system, i like the idea of sticking with a dizzy but no doubt it will be expensive to get H&H to make or modifiy one for me as a result can anyone give me abit more information about the mega jolt system? in perticular what components do i need for the engine to run as theres so many different variations im abit confuzzaled by it all? any help or comments appriciated mean while hopefully get this inner sill and floor pan in beore the end of the month =}

Some bike carbs would be better suited as there's very little space for carbs without cutting the crossmember, plus being CV carbs they should give better economy.

As for Megajolt the basic parts are

Mj ecu
Edis4
Coilpack
Vr sensor

A few hours of searching will provide all the answers you need.

interesting to see how you get on with the weber carbs. if the you can sort out the space-problem, i'd say go for it. They will look very cool i think, and when properly set up, you can expect some extra power to.

As for ignition systems, i talked to the guy from 123ignitions the other day, he reckons he can built me a 123tune distributor based on the mini's with nissan drive on the end. i'll be up there soon, to discuss the plans with him. i'll put a full update on this in my own thread once we finished. 123tune is a fully mappable electronic ignition with classic look. have a look on their website.

my only advice would be to use a subframe jig although its a bit late now, although you could use another frame to make the jig then put this one into it whilst cutting/welding etc. other than that good progress, will be great to see another Nissan conversion on the road
