After painting the car you have to do the proper maintenance of car, without proper lighting you cannot see the majority of swirls and scratches. use the proper lightening products for car.

Hi I have just painted my mini myself and I have a few runs what's the best method to get them out? I didn't laquer it after base. My paint had already had laquer mixed in it. Here is a picture of my finish can I get it better with polish?

2000 wet and dry with plenty of soapy water then polish with a cutting compound.

I'd wait until it's fully hardened first.

Was it not a bit cold to be painting?

Check out this video for removing runs. I'm a big fan of The Gunman, he's very knowledgeable and is full of little tips and tricks.

Great write up and guide! Only a couple of weeks ago I just did my Subaru brat- sprayed up new doors and wings, did a few blow- ins, and then wet sanded( just fresh paint as wasn't sure how thick the original paint was) and mopped the entire truck ( both the fresh new and old faded paint). I used the 3 m compound green and purple tops, then finished with a hand glaze. Really does come out looking good. I think darker coloures can show up more of a shine- did my mini van last year ( dark brown) and came up like a mirror! Really do recommend the 3 m stuff though!

Hi all what end or pad would you suggest for buffing after the car has been wet flattened?

Is there different ones for celle paint and metallic with clear coat?

cheers
