Just ordered a 1kg pot so off to buy some 3M 150mm yellow foams tomorrow. Going to give this a go on my daily car as well as i'm not happy with the finish so this should sort it out.

No problem bud it's top stuff :!:.

And by the way your collection of cleaning/polishing products is unreal. Large amount of cash for that collection methinks.

haha yeah it's a fairly extensive collection. the Scholl takes some getting used to, if you want some advice just ask.

i have a few mark on a cellulose respray done about a year ago that have been left by the car cover. I T cut a bit which improved it a little but i'm gutted that the paint is knacked so soon after the respray. looks like flatting and polishing might fix it.

i have a electric polisher from Halfrauds but sounds like this won't cut the mustard?

What I usually do is apply a wax after cleaning the car. Then, wipe it off with a microfiber cloth. I think that this is a really good trick to bring luster to a dull and old car.

Wow, I started this 6 years ago.....!!! good to see it is still coming in useful. I will try dig out and repost the old photos.
There are far more products on the market now than G3 that was originally used. Much finer and less aggressive too.
Worth having a look at some of the detailing forums for a bit of research first. :proud:

Any chance of getting the photos back up, seem to have disappeared...

Also I've got water mark and my clear coats gone a little hazy on my bonnet would you recommend this process to maybe try and fix it

If the clear coat has gone hazy, it implies there is moisture in the top coat (i.e. it was sprayed in damp/humid conditions, or moisture has got underneath the top coat.
You could try flatting it back a bit and seeing if that helps, but it depends what level the issue is at, i.e. top, in the lacquer, under the lacquer, in the base coat etc.

Seem to be a few different opinions expressed in this thread - doubtless compounds change/improve over the years!

As a first time painter I have just done my shell in cellulose (over high build primer). How long should I leave it before giving it a general cut and polish, and recommendations for suitable products please.

Many thanks,

Bob

I'd leave it a good few days in warm weather, cellulose doesn't take as much/long to cure as 2k though, I've left that for months in the past. An oven would have sped the process up though.

I use and recommend the Meguiars pro stuff!
