Here is a few photos of my dads Ford Prefect that a couple wanted to see photos of on the carb post I made about it, so here she is!

Plans to get new carpets, new wheels, bumpers and grill have been taken off already to put the original chrome ones that came with it

awesome i love these cars! the mechanic at this garage i take the mini to has one of these on a lift at the min, but its mint green, has deep dish minilites and hes currently fitting a cossie to it!!! your dads prefect looks lush!

I love osf's! I do think those wheels need banding though

I passed my driving test in one of those, a 100E, in 1960. That's what the BSM had as their standard driver training car back then. 3-speed gearbox with a huge gap from 2nd to top. Vacuum wipers which stopped when you put on full throttle - just what you needed when you pulled out to overtake in the rain!
The last 100E model, in 1960, had the 997 Anglia engine. That means a Cortina GT 1500 engine would fit straight in as a 'period modification'. How good would that be in historic motorsport? Suspension is easy to sort as it has McPherson struts front & leaf springs rear and I'm guessing that the early Cortina disc brakes would fit easily.
No, I'd better stick with Minis!

Cortina GT1500 in one would be something else! I had a drive in it earlier and I agree, the difference between 2nd to top!

Love the styling of them, and I bet you can get them to go and handle quite well without spoiling the overall look.

Not so keen on the "nerf bars" original chrome bumpers as you are planning will look much better in my opinion

Yea, Ultralites, white lower flash (same as green car) and dropped a touch with original grille and bumbers - nice car

Wonder why such an original looking car ended up with the orange bling?
