Hi, i've just purchased a 3 clock dial set for my rove mini 1992 open classic. it originally came with 2 dials and really want to add the rev meter with the new 3 clock i got off ebay.

does anyone know how to fit this and if it's easy to do,

would i need any additional cables at all?

thank you in advance

It's relatively simple. The wiring for the rev counter should already be installed in your car. The two wires (Green/Yellow and Black/White from what I can remember) will be just hanging not connected to anything behind your existing clocks.

All you need to do is whip the existing clocks out, take the printed circuit board off the back (undo the screws and it should just pop off), slide the rev counter onto the side of the fuel/temp gauge, fit a 3-clock printed circuit board (from Minispares or if you can get hold of a 2nd hand one make sure it's for the later Nippon Seiki gauges [1989+], not the Smiths gauges!), plug the two wires from the loom into the back of the rev counter, fit the larger style 'cage' that holds the gauges in place, and you're done

I have a sneaky feeling you won't need a cage if you have a dashboard...I can't quite remember but I have a feeling the clocks just screw onto that wooden bit in the picture and the cage becomes redundant (although that might be utter rubbish, so best someone else clears that up!).

In response to your question, I got mine from someone selling one here on TMF in the parts section. Check there, and the breaking section to see if anyone has one in a car they are breaking. Otherwise just check Ebay or Minispares etc.
