Hello all,
I know it is not a mini but I've aquired a smart car with no engine and would like to put in a bike engine like a z car what do people use for an ATB / LSD is it usually the quaife item or is there a cheaper alternative?
Cheers

The z cars kit uses a sierra LSD which is £500 extra. The Quaife ATB is much better because it can go to almost 100% torque bias, whereas the sierra LSD doesn't have much preload on it and are usually shagged anyway. It costs a bit more ~ £600 but worth it.
The other option is not to use an LSD at all, just get a normal open diff, depends on your application really.....

Why dont you give chris a call and get a quote, as they have done one a while back so they would know all the pitfalls etc

Smart CAR or Roadster ????
Z Cars have done a Roadster, not sure about the smaller taller version.....
But they will take on anything if you want them to .....
Z Cars also have a fancy dropgear gearbox, gets rid of all your chain worries but is probably at least £2K
